FAQs

What does HBOT involve?

HBOT involves sitting or lying in a hyperbaric chamber—an enclosed space filled with high-pressure oxygen— and breathing. This allows your lungs to take in more oxygen, thereby increasing circulating oxygen in your bloodstream.

How long is a treatment?

Each HBOT session is usually between 60-75 minutes in duration. The number of treatments you may need depends on your condition.

What can I take inside the chamber?

Comfortable clothes

A water bottle (preferrably metal)

Entertainment such as headphones, books, mobile phones.

What not to take inside the chamber?

No food or sweets, gum etc.

No flammable items such as lighters.

No sharp objects.

No outside footwear.

Experience

Relatively speaking there is no dramatic effect on your lungs or body under the amounts of pressure experienced in a chamber such as the one used.

There are minor changes like being on an aeroplane and your ears pop/feel full as you adjust under pressure. There are several ways to manage any discomfort for this which will be covered before your treatment.

The chamber is very large and spacious with windows, lights and blankets/pillows for maximum comfort and relaxation.

Aftermath

Everybody responds differently to the treatment, however, people either report feeling more calm, energised or more sleepy after their first session. This is largely because healing takes energy and HBOT is enhancing the healing process.
