Pressure
Going away (or up) from the earths core such as on a plane or a mountain where air pressure decreases, it becomes harder for our lungs to get the necessary amount of oxygen into our bodies, because there is less air occupying the same amount of space.
Alternatively, going down towards the centre of the earth, the pressure will increase and more air will occupy the same space.
As the chamber increases pressure this replicates going down towards the earths centre, and increasing air pressure has been scientifically proven to increase the body’s absorption of oxygen into the bloodstream.
Chamber
Here at OxyTreat we have specialised chambers which are safe and comfortable to provide the best treatment. The chambers are inflatable sealed capsules which turn completely solid under pressure and are fed pure oxygen via a soft face mask.
The chamber has depths of 1.3, 1.4 and 1.5 ata (atmospheric pressure).
1.5 ata is approximately 120 feet or 37 metres.
Oxygen
Instead of breathing roughly 23% oxygen in the air normally, HBOT has the capabilities to increase this to roughly 97%.
This increase of oxygen percentage will get into our blood and be pumped around our bodies. This essentially means our organs, bodily systems and cells are experiencing a boost in energy, healing and function.
Oxygenated blood is used for respiration of the body’s cells, allowing our cells to make energy molecules called adenosine triphosphate (ATP).
ATP simply put, transfers energy to our body and its functions.

In a nutshell
By increasing the body’s absorption of oxygen (pressure) combined with the extra production of energy (oxygen), HBOT provides the opportunity to be given an extra boost and support the body’s natural ability to heal and improve overall health.
Evidence & Law
Whilst there is growing evidence to support the use of HBOT, it is important to note that in accordance with EU and UK Law, there is no intention implied or otherwise that HBOT is administered with the intention of it being a cure, replacement treatment or preventative for any disease or health condition. Any references, studies or articles that are cited do not imply that simlar results will occur when HBOT is used.
Additionally, although there is growing scientific evidence around the use of HBOT, at present, there are no “randomised control trials” (which are usually considered the strongest form of scientific evidence) around the use of HBOT.
